3rd session of Healthy Happy Children's Life Workshop, a training session for Nepalese parents on Child Right, took place on Sunday, 11th march, 2012 at CMA CCK Secondary School Tuen Mun.

The eight week long� symposium, organized by Heavenly Path Hong Kong, is sponsored by Child Right Convention. Despite the poor weather condition, a good number of parents and children turned up to partake in the event.

The speakers Dr Dhiraj Gurung and Ms Brenda Lisenby talked on WHO Health Definition& Meeting Developmental Health Needs and Meeting the Five Development Needs of Children respectively.

"Most parents are concerned about the physical development of their children, which is not bad, but that is only a small part of wholesome development of a child.� Mental, social, spiritual and emotional growth are equally important.� Children carry their inborn nature to some extend, but parenting style, family background and social environment� plays the vital role in the� development of children." said Dr Gurung.

Ms Brenda Lisenby began with group discussion. Parents were split into small groups and each group was asked to list out 10 things that children need . Then, they were asked to categorize them into five different categories, which are physical, mental, social, spiritual and emotional. A majority of parents believed emotional need is the easiest� and physical need is the most difficult to meet. Ironically, it turn out to be the opposite. Ways to meet� the developmental needs of children, mainly emotional need, will be carried out next week.

Children had a wonderful time with Ms Annie Wong, a teacher and an excellent story teller, and MANYminds brothers and sisters.� Activities such as Storytelling, paper craft and movie time were conducted for them.Vernon Davis jersey
